Worst Refrigerator Ive Ever Owned

Ive owned this refrigerator since June and it hasnt worked at all since purchasing. Home Depot sent a repairman who told me to keep the door shut. Once the home depot warranty ran out LG has dispatched multiple repairmen who have replaced multiple parts and it still doesnt work. I do not recommend this product. If it werent for the 1980s fridge in our garage wed be starving.

For the first 2 years the refrigerator has been excellent. It has performed well and Ive been very satisfied with it. However in early September of 2024 the fan in the freezer failed. My experience from that point forward has been miserable. Its best described in the words of my 9/22 email to LG Customer Service: FOLLOWUP ON: Message from LG Electronics ID: 3374544 Hello On 9/11/24 I contacted LG Customer Service by phone to determine if the problem Im having with my LG refrigerator is covered by the warranty. At the time I was asked to send pictures of the sticker label PLUS the green lights in the back of the refrigerator compartment. NOTE - The 2nd item was a verbal request from the customer service rep and is not referenced in the LG email which initiated this thread. I emailed the requested pictures on 9/14/24 and have not heard anything since then. The details are as follows: MODEL # - LTCS20020S SERIAL # - 202MRHR0S017 DELIVERY DATE - 3/16/2022 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM - The fan which seems to be located behind the vents in the back of the freezer became increasingly noisy and then failed altogether. . DIAGNOSIS OF PROBLEM - Unknown. The service techs whom I contacted refuse to work on LG refrigerators. But more importantly I need to understand the warranty status before I schedule a service appointment. IMPORTANT QUESTION - Can you identify an LG-certified technician near US zipcode 01571? Please respond ASAP as living with a marginally functional refrigerator is becoming increasingly difficult. Thank You

Purchased this refrigerator from Costco.com in February. By July it stopped cooling. I have a two-year manufacturer warranty with the unit. I have contacted LG 5 different times and had 5 different technicians come out to inspect the fridge without any success. They refuse to replace the unit or reimburse for any spoiled foods. This is the worst customer service I have received in years and the last time I will be purchasing an LG product.

Had this brand new fridge for about 3 months. Freezer door is not held closed by magnets or latch and will pop open when the lower door is closed air pressure?. Stylish No Frills Stainless Steel Unit.

We purchased this model since we were looking for a stylish no frill ice maker instant water unit with a stainless steel finish with the freezer on top and refrigerator on the bottom. This unit was the perfect choice. Lots of space within both compartments and lots of LED lighting. It worked fine for 2.5 years and unfortunately the fan motor blew and unit was not cooling properly. I call LG warranty serried center and they quickly scheduled a service call with a local service. The service was quickly in touch with us and they arrived two days later with the replacement part. Installation was was quick and unit is back to full service. Were very happy with this unit and the service we received from LG.

Faulty from the start. Dont buy it

Bought this fridge Sept 22. I heard humming noise from the first day. Called multiple times and finally LG came and said there is no issue. Now its almost two years and the noise gotten so much worse. However its past warranty. So after 10 calls and many waits and frustrations I was told to get a tech to come LG put a hold of $458 to come. The cost is ridiculous and not even worth the fridge by now.

This by far is the worst refrigerator I bought. Im already going on my third compressor and its only 2 years old. The customer service has been a nightmare to deal with. I was assured and apologized to every time I spoke with a new rep and I was assured my repair would be followed up on and completed. They deal with partners that are not reliable. Ive been out a refrigerator since May 2024 and Im at the end of July with out a resolution. Shame on LG for the sub par customer service.

When I first got it it kept tripping my plug. Customer service thought my plug was the problem but the tech called me and was SOOOO helpful. He let me know that they actually needed to update software and CS wouldnt know that only the techs who actually see the products know from experience. He saved me a fortune. My other problem after that is now after 2 year all the shelves are breaking. The plastic is mildly strong but cant handle this house of 9 food bill. Now I have to figure out how to get shelves that arent over $100 each because I need every shelf replaced. Other than these 2 problems. Its goodfor my small apartment. My door is smaller than average amd this was able to be squeezed in

Fridge is ok. We knew it was simple. And we knew we would have to reverse the doors. But LG with this model has made it impossible. I followed the manual carefully. There are only two levelers a surprise to the customer service guy and one of them is attached to the lower hinge. After emptying the freezer/fridge taking both doors off and arriving at the bottom right hinge I discovered LG has attached the leveler to the bottom hinge. So if I moved it to the other side the fridge would topple. It looks like the leveler on the left side is glued on. Some documentation says there are two bolts but there are not. So to save a few extra pennies LG has made it impossible to change the door swing without major redo. I guess tipping the fridge up ungluing and gluing?? Customer service was useless and only said we needed to hire someone. Really? For a $650 fridge?

I bought this refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago. It stopped working. It took 2 weeks for LG to send a repairman - they cancelled two appointments. The repairman told me that LG was having a lot of problems with the freezer fan which is what he said was wrong with my refrigerator. LG charged me $478 to fix it.

I bought this top freezer refrigerator based on reviews and prices. Both freezer compartment and refrigerator work perfectly. This top freezer model costs much less than bottom freezers that I reviewed. It offers really good value. I am very happy with the purchase. I am also very happy with the Home Depot delivery service which is timely and efficient.

First time I purchased an LG kitchen appliance and I really. As l have a small kitchen now I was afraid it would not fit in the space allotted for it. It fits great. Has been working great since I bought it. Especially like the vegetable drawers and that it is energy star rated. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Take too long and rude techs

Ive had it less than a year Ive had 2 techs at my home the first one came and right way and didnt fix the problem so we lost a lot of food because it wasnt freezing. The second took much longer to come out for the same problem and he was very rude and left the part box out in front on the instead of disposing it. My moms 86 and she cant afford to loose groceries like that overall the techs service is unprofessional and unpleasant. The phone customer service is great

Worst refrigerator purchase ever I bought this LG refrigerator from Lowes on February 26 2024 and it was delivered on February 29 2024. It has been nothing but trouble since day one. The first service call was because the unit wasnt cooling properly. The technicians solution was to tell me to unplug the refrigerator once a month to prevent ice buildup hardly a practical or long-term fix A week later I had to call for service again because the fan needed replacing. It took a week to get the part. The third service call was to replace the motherboard which also took a week to arrive. Now the entire unit has stopped working and LG seems indifferent to my problems. They say this kind of issue is normal and dont seem to care about their customers experiences. I would strongly advise against buying this LG refrigerator or any other LG appliance.

Worst refrigerator I have ever owned We bought this on 12/23/21 and went 3 years without a problem. We are coming up on 3 months without this working properly. We have the extended warranty and a technician has been out 4 times and unable to fix this Still as of today the temperature in my fridge is 60 degrees. I will never buy another LG product and I will make sure everyone I talk to knows never to buy an LG product

We bought this lG fridge a month ago for our cabin. We installed it plugged it in and left for the week. Came back the next weekend and it was warm It NEVER WORKED We got the run around with customer service with getting someone to fix it no one picked up the work So FINALLY after a month LG gave in and are processing a check for what we paid for it No installation coverage no take out coverage I am incredibly disappointed and will no longer purchase ANY LG items

Great refrigerator cheap freezer fan

Love the refrigerator for the room and it worked great until the fan in the freezer went out in less than 2 years. Reporting it to get it serviced was a pain call this number call that number etc. Finally able to coordinate my schedule with the service tech and he arrived with the part had it fixed and on his way in about 20 minutes. Excellent service from him.

I was happy to find the perfect replacement for my old refrigerator which needed a new seal and was hard to clean. This refrigerator was on sale before Memorial Day and had the perfect measurements for my small kitchen. It has an energy star which should help with the electric bill. This stainless steel refrigerator looks good with my other appliances.

I bought this unit a little over a year ago. The refrigerator is not cooling properly however the freezer works fine??? I called in and spoke to someone who had me do a shutdown and restart. It didnt improve the cooling??? I am now gone from that location for 6 months and will have to deal with it in November. Frustrating with the service and the unit failing in the first year. I have other LG products that seem to work okay. I will be interested how the warranty works since I cant be there for 6 months however I reported the problem.
